The Local 274 Outreach Program organized and run by Brother Niles has been a big hit.We collected over $20,000 so far and donations are still being made.The first delivery was 4/8 at noon and a story was also put on Channel 12 news.Continental deli was the first to prepare meals for the doctors and nurses of White Plains Hospital.150 Individually wrapped meals were picked up by Brother Niles and Brother Eifler and delivered to the hospital along with 6 arrangements of flowers delivered by Blossom flowers on Mamaroneck Ave.So with the help of those that donated, we fed 150 workers,cheered them up with beautiful flowers that read "White Plains Firefighters Local 274 Appreciate You" and gave Continental Deli and Blossom Flower Shop some much needed revenue.Hospital staff was very appreciative as was the owner of the deli.We will continue this mission for as long as the money is there.A few more floral arrangements will be delivered,then it will be just meals or anything else they need that we can help out with.Another big Thanks to Brother Niles for setting up,running and organizing this fantastic idea.Next delivery of meals will be Tuesday the 14th.
