The City of White Plains officially implemented a back to work policy(below). The CDC recommends that you have to be free of fever and other symptoms for 72 hours straight and have the option of 2 negative tests 24 hours apart. The city part leaves that out. With the shortage of tests,it is hard enough to get one test.Use common sense,if you dont feel well, stay home.Contact your primary care physician if you have any questions. If you dont have a pcp, call our department physician,Dr Vizioli(914-849-7195)

The City of White Plains will follow CDC guidelines to determine when employees can return to work after they have tested positive for Covid-19 or have had Covid-19 symptoms and have been isolated. Such employees can return to work after they meet the CDC criteria for discontinuing home isolation.

The criteria and steps to be taken are described in the following:

    1. EMPLOYEES WHO TESTED POSITIVE AND HAD SYMPTOMS

Employees who tested positive for COVID-19 who have had symptoms and were directed to care for themselves at home, may return to work under the following conditions:

     · At least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since recovery which means no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement in respiratory symptoms (like cough and shortness of breath); and

    · At least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared OR seven days have passed since the date of their first positive COVID-19 diagnostic test, whichever date is later.

    2. EMPLOYEES WHO DID NOT TAKE A COVID-19 TEST AND HAD SYMPTOMS

Employees who did not take a Covid-19 test, had COVID-19 symptoms and were directed to care for themselves at home, may return to work under the following conditions:

    · At least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since recovery which means no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement in respiratory symptoms (like cough and shortness of breath); and

    · At least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.

    3. EMPLOYEES WHO TESTED POSITIVE BUT HAD NO SYMPTOMS

    · Employees who tested positive for COVID-19 who have not had any symptoms may return to work when at least 7 days have passed since the date of their first positive COVID-19 test and they have had no symptoms or illness
