Unfortunately, emergency responders must sometimes make the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their job. This section of the Web site is dedicated to announce, honor and memorialize our members that die in the line-of-duty.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Lieutenant Richard A. Nappi of IAFF Local 854 - Uniformed Fire Officers Association, New York, New York. Brother Nappi, 47, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012 from a heart attack while battling a three-alarm fire in Brooklyn.

The Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 and Friday, April 20, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Moloney Funeral Home, 132 Ronkonkoma Avenue, Lake Ronkonkoma, New York 11779, (631) 588-1515. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 800 Portion Road, Lake Ronkonkoma, New York 11779, (631) 737-4388.
